Meet Waverlee
So… where to begin? Well, as you know, I’m a mermaid and a princess and I live in the Pacific Ocean, off the coast of the land you call California. It is warm and beautiful here. Near the beaches I see lots of humans standing on big sticks that have fins on the bottoms. They like to ride on my waves. I call them my waves because that’s my special Mermaiden power—I control the waves! I’m 15, so I’m still learning to really control my powers but I do a lot better than when I was a merbaby. When I was little if I got upset I could cause a really big wave, but I’ve learned to keep my temper calm so I don’t make waves that are dangerous for people. I certainly don’t want to hurt anyone!
I think the human world is so wonder-fin! You have so many different scales and fins you get to change into. So many colors and styles! I’d love to learn about how you change your outsides all the time. One of my favorite things is when my bestest finfriend Bubbles and I swim around the human piers near Malibu and watch the people with their colorful scales and long fins.

Hi Waverley! I so badly wish I could meet you. I live in a coral reef near Hawaii and have a turtle named coral and a dolphins named bubbles. (I named bubbles after your dolphin!) my tail is an aqua and coral color.

I also used to live of the cost of California, I had a fin friend named buddy. he is an otter and i mis him but we moved to land when I was 4, I can now change from legs to finns wit magic shells.

Hello there, Scarlet Gold – Fin! Back home in the Pacific Ocean, I used to get taught by my mother. She is an absolute fintabulous teacher! Whatever this Covid – 19 is, I can tell you that we don’t have it here in the Pacific Ocean, except if it is a good thing like kindness and fun games, because that we have! The waves I used to cause were very big, but not as big as tsunamis. Jia told me all about them because several tails ago, a horrible tsunami struck the land. I certainly hope no one was hurt! I sadly can not send you a photograph since, sadly, the Mercouncil does not allow us to show ourselves to human folk, and we are only allowed to communicate through Fin Fun. Maybe someday that will all change, but until then, remember to keep your fins flying!

Hi Waverlee, I was wondering if you’ve ever had a human friend. You’re so cool and like a lot of human things, and now that the Mercouncil is letting mermaids make their presence known to humans, do you have a human friend? Hi waverlee! A few years ago i ordered a purple mermaid tail off of what we humans call amazon! And when the mermaid tail came, it came with a letter from the mercounsel! Anyway, it’s been so wonderful getting to meet you again!

Hello there! No, I don’t believe I have ever heard of boy bands. But sometimes, when me and Bubbles are exploring, we hear different kinds of music from the beach. One time, we heard some music and we followed the sound. Turns out, it was coming from a big red box with lots of buttons on it. Sadly, It was too big and too heavy to carry back home, so we had to leave it there. Bubbles was not too happy about that. It was wonderful meeting you! Keep your fins flying,
